Primary Care
Family Health Associates (FHA) provides Primary Care to families throughout Mifflin and Juniata counties. With its busy, well-staffed primary care offices (two in Lewistown and others in Belleville, Mifflintown and McAlisterville), FHA is fulfilling its primary care mission.
A Primary Care Provider (PCP) can be a family doctor, an internist, or a pediatrician. A PCP is a physician/medical doctor who provides both the first contact for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions not limited by problem origin, organ, system, or diagnosis.
A PCP can also be a mid-level provider, such as a nurse practioner or a physician assistant. Mid-level providers work with supervising doctors and their patients, extending the reach and effectiveness of FHA primary care offices. Just like physicians, they diagnose and treat the sick, conduct physical exams, order lab tests and X-rays, and prescribe medications. They address chronic health problems, and provide useful patient education. Their participation is a major asset to the quality and the availability of care offered at FHA primary and specialty care offices.
Our Primary Care Physicians and Providers specialize in health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of healthcare settings including office, inpatient, critical care, long-term care, and home care. Your PCP will help you make the right health choices to keep you and your family healthy and collaborate with other health professionals and specialists when appropriate.
Let us help you find a primary care physician or provider that is Right for you! FHA provides a network of several satellite offices throughout the Mifflin and Juniata counties supplying essential health care to the rural areas.
