Library/Jane Karn Medical
History: In
1974, Jane
B. Karn, the hospital's first full-time librarian, opened the Medical Library for staff,
physicians, and the public. Following her 11 years of service and her passing
in April of 1997, the library was renamed in her honor to memorialize her
hard work and dedication to the library and its services.
The library is still
providing educational and information resources and services to the Medical/Dental staff, interns, nursing students,
employees of Lewistown Hospital and the Community to this day.
The library is a member of the National Network of Library of
Medicine (NLM) and we are dedicated to providing high quality information and services to
health professionals and improving the publics access to health information. Library Hours: Monday
through Friday-8:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday-Closed
After Hours-Hospital ID tag is required to gain access
Special arrangements can
be made for weekend access by contacting the library staff. Location:
The library is now located on the 4th floor of the Medical
